As Lead Designer for Summit LA18 and LA19, I defined the event brand and visual communication system, from initial marketing to on-site execution. My work covered a vast array of design, including: a comprehensive wayfinding and signage system, guest experience and welcome materials, brand partnership signage and co-branded activation support, stage lighting, and merchandise.
Inspired by Southern California sunsets, I collaborated with Summit Art Director Alexander Zhang to translate this aesthetic into dynamic stage lighting for keynotes and performances at the Orpheum Theatre and United Artists Theatre. I designed and programmed a system of colorways into A/V lighting presets, creating evolving gradients that mirrored the LA sky. An additional layer of white globe bulbs were placed on a slow rotational axis to create a moving sky that mirrored the time of day, connected back to the visual identity, and served as the backdrop of the series.
